Frieza Race Racial Advantages
Custom Frieza Race characters — often called Frost Demons or Frieza Clan — excel at Ki blast damage, movement speed, and stamina-focused melee with unique tail attacks on some strings. Golden Frieza transformation massively boosts Ki damage for a timed window, making them premier zoners and PQ farmers. They recover Ki when knocked back at low health, adding comeback potential. Frieza Race learns skills from Frieza, Cooler, and related mentors via Frieza's Ship time rift. They cannot use Super Saiyan forms but access Golden Frieza and Metal Cooler-related awoken paths depending on progression. Strike Frieza builds exist but Ki is the racial sweet spot. Tail hitboxes on back attacks surprise opponents unfamiliar with the race.
Golden Ki Blaster Build
Meta PvE and PvP zoning: 125 Ki, 125 Ki Blast Supers, 125 Stamina; Golden Frieza transformation; QQ Bang plus-five Ki and Ki Blast Supers. Supers: Emperor's Death Beam, Death Flash, Maximum Charge; ultimate Golden Death Beam or Death Ball. Super Soul: "The Great Saiyaman is here!" or Ki recovery souls. Play at mid range, cancel Ki blasts into supers, transform when Ki is full for burst phases. Golden form timer encourages aggressive windows — do not idle. Step dash sideways to avoid beam wars you will lose against dedicated Saiyan Ki builds without reads. In PQs, Golden form melts groups before timer expires.
Strike and Stamina Break Frieza
Less common but strong: 125 Basic Attacks, 125 Strike Supers, 125 Stamina with Golden form for strike damage boost still applies. Supers: Tail Whip chains, Death Crasher, Rush Breaker; ultimate Power of Destruction or similar. Super Soul: "You are a disgrace to your race!" Focus stamina breaks with tail strings then confirm with Ki supers. Requires more mechanical skill than pure zoning. Medium height Frieza models balance reach and speed. Practice tail attack timing in training — unique to the race.
Mentors and Frieza's Ship Rift
Frieza mentor unlocks Death Beam variants and Golden Frieza awoken skill through the Frieza's Ship time rift parallel quests. Cooler adds additional strike and Ki options. Complete rift quests early for Z-rank equipment with Ki bonuses. Metal Cooler mentor lines appear in post-DLC content for additional skills. Prioritize Emperor's Death Beam and Maximum Charge before ranked. Golden Frieza training requires high level and mentor friendship — plan PQ farming while leveling Frieza mentor simultaneously. Friendship caps rise slowly if you only do story — schedule one Frieza rift PQ session after every three parallel quest farms for steady progress.
Matchups and Build Tips
Frieza Race beats slow rushdown if you maintain distance but loses to UI Sign and super dash meta if predictable. Vary high and low Ki blasts to avoid perfect guard players. Against Namekian tanks, do not beam spam into regen — stamina break first. Golden form expiry mid-combo is embarrassing — track timer on HUD. For Expert Missions, Golden Ki builds contribute huge boss damage if you stay alive — invest Health secondary after Ki stats. Switch to strike supers if boss reflects Ki. QQ Bang rerolls targeting Ki Blast Supers plus-five are top priority for Frieza mains.
Cooler and Metal Cooler Extensions
After mastering Frieza mentor lines, train Cooler for additional strike and Ki supers that diversify PvP reads. Metal Cooler post-DLC content adds flavor skills and equipment suited to Ki builds. Tail attack strings on Frieza Race back-turn mixups catch rushdown players who super dash predictably — lab them against aggressive CPU before ranked. When Golden Frieza ends during a PQ wave, fall back to Maximum Charge into a one-bar super rather than melee rushing; your racial Ki recovery on knockback helps reset neutral safely until the form returns. Cooler's Supernova ultimate also gives a second beam win condition when Golden timer expires mid-boss fight.
