Saiyan Racial Strengths
Custom Saiyans are the flagship race in Xenoverse 2. They gain damage bonuses as health drops, access the widest transformation tree, and synergize with nearly every mentor in Conton City. Super Saiyan forms multiply strike and Ki damage, while later awoken skills like Potential Unleashed, Ultra Instinct Sign, and Beast push them to the top of both PvP and PvE tier lists. Saiyans learn Super Saiyan quickly through the Capsule Corporation time rift with Vegeta and Goku mentors, making them ideal for new players. Their combo routes are standard male/female animations with good reach on tall builds. The tradeoff is popularity — everyone knows how to counter Saiyan rushdown — and heavy reliance on transformation uptime for peak performance. You will invest time unlocking every awoken skill, but each one opens a distinct build path.
Recommended Attribute Builds
Strike Saiyan PvP: 125 Basic Attacks, 125 Strike Supers, 125 Stamina; Beast or Potential Unleashed; QQ Bang plus-five Basic Attacks and Strike Supers. Ki Saiyan PvE: 125 Ki, 125 Ki Blast Supers, 125 Health; Super Saiyan God or Blue; QQ Bang plus-five Ki stats. Hybrid story build: 125 Basic Attacks, 125 Ki Blast Supers, 125 Health with Super Saiyan 1 until you unlock better forms. Avoid spreading stats evenly — mediocre numbers everywhere underperform focused 125 spreads. Female Saiyans use slightly different combo timing; test Pressure Sign in training before committing. Height affects Basic Attack damage slightly; width affects speed. Most competitive Saiyans pick tall max height for reach in PvP or medium for balanced PvE.
Transformation Priority Order
Unlock Super Saiyan 1 early from Capsule Corp, then push story for Super Saiyan 2. Super Saiyan 3 comes from mentor quests and offers huge PvE damage at Ki cost. Visit Elder Kai for Potential Unleashed after advancement tests — excellent all-around form. Ultra Instinct Sign requires high level and mentor progression from Whis-related content; prioritize for PvP defense. Beast requires Legendary Pack 2 parallel quest progression with Vegeta mentor lines — best burst form in the game. Super Saiyan God and Blue come from God of Destruction training with Whis at level 90. For general play, default to Potential Unleashed until Beast or UI Sign fits your mode. SSJ3 remains a fun novelty build but not your only endgame form.
Skill and Super Soul Recommendations
Strike loadout: Pressure Sign, Deadly Dance, God Breaker; ultimate Power Pole or Final Flash hybrid. Ki loadout: Bending Kamehameha, Super Kamehameha, Maximum Charge; ultimate Super Spirit Bomb or Soul Punisher. Evasive: Instant Rise for PvP, Super Front Jump for PvE safety. Super Souls: "You are a disgrace to your race!" for strike ranked, "I'm the strongest!" for Ki farming. Mentor progression: start with Vegeta for Galick Gun and Final Flash, Goku for Kamehameha variants, then branch to Whis for UI Sign. Saiyans can learn more strike and Ki supers than any other race — collect broadly, then narrow to six equips plus one ultimate and one evasive.
Common Mistakes and Matchups
New Saiyan players over-transform on wakeup and drain Ki before securing damage. Activate forms after winning neutral, not before. Do not neglect Stamina — Saiyan strings are long and you will get vanished if empty. Against Frieza Race zoners, super dash and vanish punish beat raw rush. Against UI Sign mirrors, stamina break before they auto-dodge chain. In PvE, switch from SSJ3 to God form when Ki runs low mid-quest. QQ Bang rerolls get expensive — aim for plus-five in two stats you use, not perfect triples. Saiyan builds age well with DLC; revisit mentor rifts after each major update for new skills that refresh old loadouts. Keep a second preset with God Ki supers for beam-heavy parallel quests even if your main preset is strike PvP — swapping loadouts in Conton City takes seconds and saves far more time than forcing one build through every game mode.
